Slow Dance

I am so0o0o0o0o0o in LOVE with this song. I think I like the lyrics. I love the beat and how she slows it down every once in awhile. Keri Hilson, girl, I must say! It makes me want to slow dance with a hot guy right now. *giggle*

For those who have not listened to "In a Perfect World," check it out! It's hot!

Lyrics to slow dance:
Come here Baby, sometimes I just wanna
dance with you…

Hold me Like this
Just rock with me
Put your arms around me boy
I got something to show you, tonight.
And you know I need your undivided attention baby. (whoa)
Aint no other girl, can rock your world like I…
So…

(Rewind)Make this moment last forever babe.
(Feels like)Your body is calling me.

But I dont,I don’t want to come on to strong,
But something happens when we slow dance.
(When we slow dance)I try to be lady like
But I got you here tonight,Something happens when we slow dance.(When we slow dance)

Talking with my fingertips (yeah yeah)
I got so much to say babe…(
Words just get in the way baby, the way baby)
Lets see can you read my hips? (Whoa)
Read between the lines?
As we bump and grind
Just getting started from behind
So one more time

(Rewind)
Make this moment last forever babe
(Feels like)
Your body is calling me

I don’t want to come on to strong,
But something happens when we slow dance.(When we slow dance)
I try to be lady like
but i got you here tonight
Something happens when we slow dance.(When we slow dance)

(2X)Got you in my element.
Time to represent who you with.
The whole world is staring at the both of us…
And Im giving you all my love.

this ones for the dance floor
strictly for the dance floor

this ones for the dance floor
strictly for the dance floor

this ones for the dance floor
strictly for the dance floor

this ones for the dance floor strictly for..(yeah)

I dont,
I don’t want to come on to strong,
But something happens when we slow dance. (When we slow dance)
I try to be lady like
But I got you here tonight
Something happens when we slow dance. (When we slow dance)

I like that one, Just rock with me

Time's A Ticking

I have classes for one more week! After that, FINAL WEEK and I technically only have ONE exam and the rests are projects...Easy Projects!! No sweat and I will definitely be a SENIOR!!!!!!

It's so crazy! I remember packing my bags to leave San Diego and head to Atlanta for my freshman year at Clark Atlanta University. Next thing you know, I'll be packing up my apartment going who knows where for Graduate School.

It's exciting, but then it's not. It's just like exiting high-school. Brings back all your memories of your matriculation through and at your school. I hate to say it but Time is Ticking! And it's almost time for the REAL WORLD!!

Food for Thought

"Education makes us conscious of our unconscious ignorance."

Life Lesson

A Church Service Lesson:

This life is not a bed of roses without any thorns on the bushes. Every now and then, God will allow you to prick your finger. Roses are very pretty, but if you are not very careful you can hurt yourself. So God is saying, don’t get ahead of me, just trust me for I know what I’m doing. Only I can restore and make new.

Skydiving!

Well, I went skydiving with my best friend last summer for her 21st birthday and it was AMAZING! And after that, I was like "I have to go again! I must!"

I love the adrenaline! I am such a daredevil and I enjoy LIFE! I am so living my life to the fullest. So, I decided to go again. This time I went with someone else near and dear to me and it was their FIRST time so it was kinda funny watching them and the nervous-ness running through their bones. Well, I loved it! And they gave me some tips on how I can become an experienced jumper. I'm so going to make that a goal!

The first time I went I got a video and pictures but this time I didn't. I just jumped! But it was amazing. The adrenaline rush is aMAzZzZzZiiiiiiiiiNnnNn!

AntiHungerEstablishmentarianism

Saw this when I was exiting off the freeway onto Boulevard. It was very catchy and random! So, I just snapped a picture while yielding and "Blogger" popped in my head!
I love how Snickers changes their logo. It's funny! I caught onto the word quickly also.

HORRIBLE weather! Dang Atlanta!

I am a San Diego native and I am used to beautiful weather including sunshine, warm degrees and used to it staying that way...ALL day! All week!

I am now residing in Atlanta and I have been here almost three years and have never seen the weather during the spring at that, like it has been now.
These past few nights, I've woke up to thundering and lightening. I can't stand it!
As I'm driving to work yesterday, off Cascade, I saw two trees that had fell. One had fell into a house and the people were watching the men pull the tree of their house and the next one was right around the corner and a tree was in the middle of the road. I couldn't believe it!

This is why I couldn't live in Atlanta. They have too many trees around houses and you have to go through the city to have them cut down. NO! And my mom wouldn't like that either. So, I don't know how I am even maintaining in this weather. I can't do it! This makes me want to move back to California ASAP... And I'm not feeling too well..uUUgGghHh...I hate being sick!

Sad & Unfortunate...but TRUE!

The sad thing about this article is that the essence of it is true. Thetruth hurts. I just hope this sets more Black people in motion towardsmaking real progress. Chris Rock, a Black comedian, even joked thatBlacks don't read.Help prove them wrong! Read and pass on.Please Note:For those of you who heard it, this is the article Dee Lee was readingthis morning on a New York radio station. For those of you who didn'thear it, this is very deep. This is a heavy piece and a Caucasian wrote it.

THEY ARE STILL OUR SLAVES We can continue to reap profits from theBlacks without the effort of physical slavery Look at the currentmethods of containment that they use on themselves: IGNORANCE, GREED,and SELFISHNESS.

Their IGNORANCE is the primary weapon of containment. A great man oncesaid, "The best way to hide something from Black people is to put it ina book." We now live in the Information Age. They have gained theopportunity to read any book on any subject through the efforts of theirfight for freedom, yet they refuse to read. There are numerous booksreadily available at Borders, Barnes & Noble, and Amazon.com, not tomention their own Black Bookstores that provide solid blueprints toreach economic equality (which should have been their fight all along),but few read consistently, if at all.

GREED is another powerful weapon of containment. Blacks, since theabolition of slavery, have had large amounts of money at their disposal.Last year they spent 10 billion dollars during Christmas, out of their450 billion dollars in total yearly income (2.22%).

Any of us can use them as our target market, for any business venturewe care to dream up, no matter how outlandish, they will buy into it.Being primarily a consumer people, they function totally by greed.. Theycontinually want more, with little thought for saving or investing.

They would rather buy some new sneaker than invest in starting abusiness. Some even neglect their children to have the latest Tommy or FUBU, Andthey still think that having a Mercedes, and a big house gives them"Status" or that they have achieved their Dream. They are fools! The vast majority of their people are still in povertybecause their greed holds them back from collectively making bettercommunities.

With the help of BET, and the rest of their black media that oftenbroadcasts destructive images into their own homes, we will continue tosee huge profits like those of Tommy and Nike. (Tommy Hilfiger has e venjeered them, saying he doesn't want their money, and look at how thefools spend more with him than ever before!). They'll continue to showoff to each other while we build solid communities with the profitsfrom our businesses that we market to them.

SELFISHNESS, ingrained in their minds through slavery, is one of themajor ways we can continue to contain them. One of their own, Duboissaid that there was an innate division in their culture. A "TalentedTenth" he called it. He was correct in his deduction that there aresegments of their culture that has achieved some "form" of success. However, that segment missed the fullness of his work. They didn't readthat the "Talented Tenth" was then responsible to aid The Non-Talented Ninety Percent in achieving a better life. Instead, that segment hascreated another class, a Buppie class that looks down on their peopleor aids them in a condescending manner. They will never achieve what wehave. Their selfishness does not allow them to be able to work togetheron any project or endeavor of substance. When they do get together, their selfishness lets their egos get in the way of their goal Their so-called help organizations seem to only want to promote their namewithout making any real change in their community.

They are content to sit in conferences and conventions in our hotels, and talk about what they will do, while they award plaques to the bestspeakers, not to the best doers. Is there no end to their selfishness? They steadfastly refuse to see that TOGETHER EACH ACHIEVES MORE (TEAM)They do not understand that they are no better than each other becauseof what they own, as a matter of fact, most of those Buppies are butone or two pay checks away from poverty. All of which is under thecontrol of our pens in our offices and our rooms.Yes, we will continue to contain them as long as they refuse to re ad,continue to buy anything they want, and keep thinking they are "helping"their communities by paying dues to organizations which do little otherthan hold lavish conventions in our hotels. By the way, don't worryabout any of them reading this letter, remember, 'THEY DON'T READ!!!!

The sad thing about this article is that the essence of it is true. The truth hurts. I just hope this sets more Black people in motion towards making real progress.

Can't WAX This Off

They are just BEAUTIFUL! The unveiling of the newly wax statue of President Obama and First Lady Michelle at Madame Tussauds, the world-famous wax museum occurred today in Washington.

I really want to go to the wax museum. I hear they have a lot of wax'd people. And this is a new addition. It's beautiful. There is no more to say, especially about these two. They are such an inspiring and "must-have" relationship.

P.S. I think these wax statues are so cute. I think they are so surreal. I remember the one with Beyonce, but it didn't look too much like her.

The Green Finger

I never believed the whole "That's a fake ring! Your finger is going to turn green!" myth. Maybe because I never owned FAKE jewelry. I have always had real gold. I just started wearing silver, because long time ago my mom told me I was allergic to it, so I never wore silver.

And just recently, I began buying more accessories from places such as Wet Seal, Love Culture (San Diego), H&M and Forever 21 (XXI). They are on my "Bad List" right now.

I bought this beautiful flower ring and when I wear it, I make it stand out even more by placing this matching bracelet on. Well, the other day when I wore it, I saw that my finger was a little green. But I paid it no mind. Today I wore it and my finger was just as green as it wanted to be. So, I'm boycotting Forever 21 rings right now. Until I find one that is worth the green showing on my finger. AaaArRRGGgHhH

Howard University

In case you didn't know...Howard University was my "dream school." I had high hopes and dreams about going to HU... While I was young and first introduced to college. Well, when time came to apply to colleges, my best friend had convinced me to apply somewhere in Atlanta so we could be together. I did!
Now, I do not regret my choice when it comes to Clark Atlanta University *wHoOp wHoOp* And I will forever support and love my soon-to-be alma mater to the fullest. But, I happened to have the honor and privilege in meeting and befriending someone very dear and near to me. He is amazing! He is more than words can describe and I enjoy his friendship. He happens to go to HU. So jealous. But, he sent me some HU attire and of course I got heat from CAU students, but I have to rep it. It's my DREAM SCHOOL!!

But, back to my friend.. It's just crazy how things work out...We call ourselves Clark/Howard..Howard/Clark (who knows why). He sent me an HU sweater, I sent him a CAU sweater. He updates me on life at HU, I don't! He enjoys HU..I enjoy CAU while wishing I was at HU. (Just some thoughts *giggle*). But, we were supposed to do this MAJOR photoshoot rocking our HU/CAU sweaters and all.. Nerds..I know! But it would've been fun!

Currently, I'm just sitting here playing on my computer in my HU shirt and just took a snapshot and said "Hey Blogger!"

Pink Panties

No people! Please get your mind out the gutter! *laughs*

I have been swamped with work lately. And sometimes I need a sugar rush in order to function. Well, I had a low sugar level and it needed to be boosted. I drive to the local Family Dollar 45 minutes after it had closed seeking candy, but my mission was incomplete.
I come home and what do you know? My roommate knew exactly what I needed by simply asking, "Want some pink panties?" I shook my head with much excitement. And soon after, she came with a big glass of pink panty. A pink panty alcoholic beverage is a mixture of pink lemonade smoothie mix and gin.

So, not only did I have some sugar, I had alcohol as well. What a boost! What a great roomie! So, off to my writing I go!!

Great News!

I just found out Drake will be performing at The Loft in Atlanta on May 2nd, 2009!!

I am sooooooo there. I believe this place is small and I kind of don't want to be crammed in the small building, so I'm considering it. But when I first saw it, I wanted to go.. I was down! I have to see Drake, so I might say "whatever!" and still go!

Improvements

My photojournalism class was assigned to create a Photoshop document of a magazine cover including a picture of myself and a celebrity.

I decided to choose this VIBE cover with Chris Brown since he's been in the media negatively.  I also chose VIBE because this is my dream magazine. This was the final product! Such an improvement.
