Act like a Lady, Think like a Man

Ladies, have you ever wondered why your man never listened to you while you were venting? Fellas, ever wondered why women try to figure you out? Steve Harvey’s “find out about men,” explains it all.

Act like a Lady, Think like a Man, is the debut book for comedian and actor, Steve Harvey. Exposing his thoughts and expertise on why men do what they do, Harvey reminds women that they need to stop doing what they do; stop expecting the best and nothing less and how to handle their men and get their men where they want them. “I’m not an expert on relationships. I’m an expert on manhood,” Harvey said on the Tyra Show.
“I’m going to tell you the secrets—the real deal about men, the things we wish you knew about us,” Harvey wrote.

Released this past January, co-writer, Denene Millner displays the thoughts women think while Harvey presents how men act and their thoughts. Giving you the mind-set of a man, why men do what they do and the playbook: how to win the game, these three sections will give women all the details, reasons and opinions from a male perspective. “Too many women are clueless about men; men get away with a whole lot of stuff in relationships because women have never understood how men think,” Steve wrote.

In hopes of empowering the insecure and clueless woman, Harvey discusses intimacy and commitment. “The Ninety-Day Rule,” informs women how to get the respect they deserve. As women, having an abstinent relationship with a man for at least three months (90 days) will show the seriousness of the relationship and the respect the man should and will show for you if he is serious. “A directive like that signals to a man that you are not a plaything—someone to be used and discarded,” Harvey wrote.

Titled Act like a Lady, Think like a Man, as Harvey gives his advice to women and believes they can continue to be the lady they are, but instead of uninformed and naïve reasons asto why their relationships turned in the wrong direction, think like a man so you won’t be the victim of inexperienced and unknowledgeable wrongdoings in your relationship; “Catch and keep your man.”

Harvey writes additional questions women “have always wanted to know,” at the end of his book. Giving women the opportunity to open their eyes and see the real-ness of men. Recent appearances on the Oprah and Tyra Banks Show have accumulated his popularity and allowed women their chance to “Act like a lady, think like a man.”

As New York Times #1 Bestseller, Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man is the single, dating and married woman’s help book. Those seeking love and a clearer outlook on their man, this is the book for you!

Red Light!

I hate em! I just dislike them REALLY!!
I hate when the stop light is on yellow and tries to hurry and switch to RED!
I hate when I pull up to the light and stopping because it's RED!
I speed up so that I could catch the green light and not get stopped in my speed. *giggle*

Why are the lights red? Is that color suppose to get my attention?
I think the green light catches my eye more than the red light?

So, today I call myself trying to reduce my speed while driving. So instead of NOT doing 80+ mph everywhere I go...lolz..I'm trying to do 65+ from now on. So, I was a tad bit late to this meeting I had to go to at 8pm, it was 8:10pm when I was at this here light above! And it irritated me because this light will turn red and then green in TWO seconds. And I think it's pointless because NO cars are able to pass. So, while I sat there I took a picture and decided to write my thoughts out.

While sitting it also brought me to thinking WHY I dislike red lights. (Esp this one)!

I Love the Way Your Arms Feel Like They Were Made to Fit Around Me

*giggle* That's all I can do when I think about the way he makes me feel.
That's how I feel when I think about him. Giddy. Complete.

When he comes around there's nothing more I'd rather do than be in his arms.
Like Algebra said, "My arms brag to each other about how you feel."
He embraces me in ways no other has. He caresses me in ways I've never been stroked.
Like Jazmine Sullivan said, "When I'm with him, ain't nobody else like it."

He keeps me smiling. He makes me happy. He embraces my mind, body and soul.
I enjoy his company. I enjoy his conversation. I enjoy HIM!

I can't explain the love I have for him.
Sometimes it feels like lust, but I know we're far from that. Sometimes it feels like love, but I refuse to claim it.

I feel like Jamie Foxx, "I've overdosed on you. Cause I want you close. I need you the most. Without you im just through. So I've overdose overdose overdose on you."
I'm ADDICTED!! What can I say? *cheese*

In what ways am I overdosed? I think of him all the time...constantly! I text him just to say hi! I call him just to see what he's doing? I bug him all the time, just to be in his arms. Boy, am I addicted.

I appreciate the little things he does for me. He doesn't have to sprinkle me with flowers, just shower me with his time. He doesn't have to tell me "I love you," just show his love!
And he doesn't have to cuddle with me all night, just give me a forehead kiss and say "Good night!"

I just want to be in his arms, I love they way he holds me.
I just want him to embrace me, I love the way his arms feel around me.
I just want him to squeeze me, I could hold my breath the whole time cause' I know he's got the air I need.

I love the way his arms feel like they were made for me!!

Hot & Steamy

What a cRaZy video. Ciara went from just booty-shaking on cars to grown and sexy all on a man. And Justin Timberlake standing there like he knows what he's doing with that. *laughs* No, but the video was off the chain. Not the song, but the video. Very nice..Big ups to the director!

Chris Brown - Rihanna Saga

So, of course I've had a problem with this Chris Brown - Rihanna situation/allegations since its happened. As a female, who has never been abused, physically, emotionally, verbally, you're right..I have no idea what it's like nor do I have a clue about what it feels like. As a DISCLAIMER I may sound like the Devils' Advocate and contradicting, but I have reasons to believe it and reasons NOT to believe it.

Everyone is right..no man should put his hands on a woman, that is right! Before the police documents were exposed, I tried to piece together reasons why Chris Brown was innocent. To me, he doesn't seem like that type that would abuse someone. (I do not know Brown personally, but he just doesn't seem like it).

When I first heard, the LA police department was looking for Chris Brown, but for what? What happened? Then, it came out that the female was Rihanna and she had called the police on Brown. For what? Then, it came out that supposedly Brown had beat Rihanna, the lamborghini he was driving may have been scratched a little, bruises were unknown at the time. No REAL, credible details were given. Finally, everyone (thw whole world) got it into their heads that Brown had beat Rihanna, bit her, punched her and so on. Really? Where is this information coming from? So, as the investigation goes on...people from all over re-enact the fight, the argument and whatever they do. Very entertaining and hilarious. Talk show hosts, Tyra, Oprah, 106 & Park discuss the issues of domestic violence, abusive relationships, etc.

Finally, the REAL police report comes out. And the tape above is from the real police report. So, everyone believes the police report and other credible sources. Which, one should. And people watched Brown walk in and out of court and heard his case get pushed back to April 6th.
Me, personally, at first I was like "he did not hit her!" Then, I turned to disliking Rihanna because it came out that this situation wasn't the first time he beat her. So, I'm questioning why is it just now coming out? She obviously allowed him to beat her because it wasn't the first time. Then what really turned me cold about her was that she claims she will not testify against him!! Well, then why sit here and press charges if you don't want to testify against him? Cause you love him? NO...either you will testify or you won't. If you choose not to, here you are, ruining this young man's career, on top of yours (because people see you took him back and that you aren't testifying against him) because the situation escalated and he made threats. Which, if he abused you before, he probably threatened you as well; traits of an abuser. So, if she feels that way, she shouldn've put the situation out there like she did. That's how I feel and I feel she doesn't care about her career or his career.

I also think, the way the so-called police report went, which who knows where the cop received the details from, Rihanna? Could've been a bit exaggerated because I don't know and can't picture how all these actions could've happened while Brown was driving. It doesn't seem possible. But, then again it can. So, I don't know. Like many have said, no on will ever know the details to why the altercation occurred, what really happened and what's is currently going on. But, of course I have more feelings about the saga from different angles and again, I kind've contradict myself, but that's due to a female perspective and a reality of how guys are.

So, I guess until more details or the TRUTH comes out, I will remain neutral about the situation and my feelings will remain the same until I find out the TRUTH (from Brown's mouth) or until something happens to prove me wrong. Til then, this saga is over-rated and makes me mad! AaaaRrRRGggGgGHhHHHhh

President Barack Obama and the Special Olympics

Now, we all know this was no intention of mockery, nor an intent to taunt and tease. He simply said, "it was like Special Olympics or something."
So, he's basically saying that the people in the Special Olympics, despite their disability can do whatever they are willing to do. Also, that the people in the Special Olympics surprise and astonish those who thought (think) people with special needs can't run, walk, jog, hike, lift weights and so on. They astonish those who do the same things "normal" (non-disabled) citizens of America are capable of doing.
So, President Obama was basically implying that people who didn't think he could bowl 129, he didn't think he could; (which is not a high score), but he astonished and proved wrong those who thought he couldn't bowl, including himself.
People are trying their BEST and HARDEST to throw negative insights on their African-American president. Such haters!
LET HIM BE AND LEAD THIS COUNTRY TO A RISE OF BETTER LIVING!!

What Urks Me...aAArRrrGgHhHH!

Now, I don't want to sound like a picky, over-obsessive, crazy, B!#gt..but I was just a little irritated at the time and decided to "calm down" by listing what irritates me.

  1. People who THINK they know it all
  2. People who don't know their purpose in life
  3. People who don't know what they are going to do with their life
  4. Teenage pregnancy (very high statistics lately)
  5. Too much work cause I stress myself out and STRESS irritates me
  6. Dreads
  7. Dumb girls (they know they're dumb)
  8. Traffic in Atlanta
  9. As humans, we are created to find ourselves...those who remain in one place their entire life and never finds themselves.
  10. When one seeks peace and the ones around them won't let them
  11. Roadtrips with ONLY guys
  12. Guys who DON'T open doors
  13. Guys who pee on the toilet seat

FYI: When I get irritated the LITTLEST things irritate me even more...

Seven Women's Blessed Assurance

One thing about me, I'm little and low, I find me a man wherever I go.
They call me string bean 'cause I'm so tall, men see me, they ready to fall.
I'm fat as butter and sweet as cake, men start to tremble every time I shake.
I'm young as morning and fresh as dew, everybody loves me, and so do you.
I'm little and lean, sweet to the bone, they like to pick me up and carry me home.
When I passed forty, I dropped pretense 'cause men like women who got some sense.
Fifty-five is perfect, so is fifty-nine, 'cause every man needs to rest sometime.

-Maya Angelou

The reason I blogged this poem is a memory that I thought about this morning while enjoying my day. When I was a freshman in junior high school, myself and six other girls that had hung out together participated in our African-American History Society (AAHS) program. So, we each picked a part that best described us and we recited our poem to our student body and enjoyed our program and enjoyed our evening. And now, SIX years later, it popped in my head and I tried to remember who was in the poem and who had which part and everything about the program. So, it just brought back memories and I decided to blog.
Much love to Maya Angelou, she is an amazing poet and I enjoy them all.

Good nite!!

Spring "Lazy" Break

YuMp, it's the SECOND day of my spring break and I got up and left my house at 1:30pm. Man, I feel bored but I'm just relaxing! That's what it's for, correcto??

Monday: My brother came into town, so I saw him off this day and got right back in my bed and slept til 2pm.
Tuesday: Stayed in bed til 1:30 and ran an errand before I went to work at 3pm.
Wednesday: Get up in the morning to get a mani and pedi
Thursday: Who knows?
Friday: who knows?

But, I do know I am chilling and relaxing. I deserve it and I need it. I haven't even gotten on the computer I've been chilling all day; the computer is the least of my worries this break!

Gotta go! Time to RELAX!!

Excerpt....

"You know how many times I sat here and told myself I wasn't dealing with you anymore? And he stood as if he didn't hear me but I didn't care, I continued.
"And I steadily take you back." I couldn't handle it anymore. At that moment, I finally exhaled and realized I deserved better. I had been hurt by him for the last time. Three years of ups and downs, pain, happiness and love. I was done. For real this time.

dRaKe OR DriZzY

So, I was just put up on Drake aka Drizzy. He sings and raps so I'm assuming Drake is the singer and his alter ego, Drizzy raps. *laugh*
But, I heard his "So Far Gone," and he's off the chain. He reminds me of Lupe Fiasco, but when I tried to compare em' both, I was like "Man, Drake is much better!" He sounds like Lupe, but his rhymes is so0ooo0o0oo0oo much better. He got rhymes like Wayne, bars you have never heard. And I must say I am impressed!
"So Far Gone," is BOMB, so when he releases an album, it's really, REALLY gon be off the chain.
Currently, I am listening to "Best I Ever Had," I love this song, for whatever reason. I also like, "Successful," "Bria's Interlude," "Brand New," and "A Night Off." Man, I listen to this album a lot lately. Thanks to the man who put me on Drake.
And I think Drake is cute too.
Listen to the album right here.

My New Phone

So, I finally reached the ending of my two-year contract with T-Mobile. First time ever! So, since I earned an upgrade, I decided to ditch the G-1 and the Sidekick (that I had and loved and adored oh so much!) and opted for the new Blackberry Curve 8900.

When I was on T-Mobile's website, I compared the 8900 to the G-1, the only difference was the touch screen and the 3G. Which I could care less about. I just finished a Powerpoint and my new phone can upload those to my computer and vice versa. So far, I'm learning how the Blackberry's work! And so far, I'm enjoying it!
